OMRON's history starts with the founding in 1933 of Tateisi Electric Manufacturing Co. The company's first product was an X-ray timer that enabled operators to take x-ray pictures with a very high degree of accuracy. From the 1950's OMRON began to focus on the growing importance of manufacturing, and moved into the field of factory automation.
As a pioneer in the field of automation machinery, OMRON has a proven record and has played a major role in the subsequent development of manufacturing.
Further technological innovation allowed us to help make home healthcare monitoring a reality with our healthcare and medical devices, and a string of world-firsts such as automatic electronic traffic light systems and an automated cash dispenser allowed us to contribute to societal development and usher in a new era.
